Growing Konfidence

Since we became Konfidence #swimologists, we have been swimming with Sienna more than we have done before. I mentioned in a previous post that Sienna was weary of the water and absolutely hated it being in her eyes. It was a battle to get her shower or wash her hair in the bath, let alone take her swimming. I used to love swimming when I was at primary school so I was desperate to get Sienna feeling the same and knew that the younger I did it, the better.

You may have seen our Alton Towers review, where we used all the Konfidence products in the watermark there. Sienna absolutely loved it and the goggles really helped her confidence, she wasn't afraid of getting the water in her eyes so was splashing and having fun.

Although I was glad she loved it, I wasn't sure if it was just because it was a water park, lots going on, lots to play with and the fact we were on a little holiday. I knew the ultimate test would be to take her to a 'regular' swimming pool that wasn't very busy so that's exactly what I did.

I did go with a friend and her little boy who is a bit younger than Sienna, but it was a week day and we were pretty much the only ones in there, there were no floats out or activities going on either. I also forgot Sienna's goggles, whoops!

I was a little anxious about it to be honest but to my surprise, she absolutely loved it! She was even more excited and carefree than at the water park. In fact, she was a little too confident.. she was doggy paddling to the steps, getting out and wanting to jump in from the side and also trying to swim. She kept asking me to let go of her which I was a little scared of doing but her Konfidence jacket kept her afloat and she did so well!

It's really shown me how much her confidence has improved in the water and I want to keep it up. I am going to continue taking her and I may even look into swimming lessons soon, you can never be too young to start and I want to start her while she is interested and loving the water!

When did you start swimming lessons with your kids? Do they love swimming now?
