Our spa day for Mother's Day!

Yesterday, my Mum & I went for a Spa day at Rookery Manor in Weston-super-mare as an early Mother's day gift. I booked it a few weeks ago through the site Wahanda, (if you haven't heard of Wahanda before it's basically a online booking system for lots of different spas and salons.. they always have great offers and discounts so it's worth having a browse or downloading the app).

I've never booked through these kind of sites before as to be honest, they always seem too good to be true and I'm worried there will be hidden costs or it won't be booked in right or something. But this time I bit the bullet and hoped for the best.

I needn't have worried.. as soon as I had booked & paid, I had a confirmation email sent to me straight away confirming the date, time, place and duration. It also stated our treatments we had chosen and what time they book in for. That was it.. all done! I didn't have to do anything else but turn up on the day with my mum.

We arrived and were greeted by the lovely head receptionist, Charlotte, who got us all checked in and thoroughly explained to us where everything was and how everything worked. She was brilliant and great at her job; she was smiley, very approachable and willing to help us with anything we needed.

We got changed into our spa attire; robe & flip-flops (they were provided along with a towel) and headed to the hot tub! It was so hot when we got in but lovely, the jets were so powerful they gave my shoulders a little warm up before we were found by a therapist who said it was time for our treatments.

We both opted for the 30 min back, neck and shoulder massage and we both enjoyed them! Being a qualified beauty therapist myself I can be picky when having treatments done by other people but my therapist Carrie was amazing. I couldn't fault the treatment from start to finish, she did everything I would have done.. I just wished it was longer! ;)

After our treatments we headed to the relaxation room to drink green tea and flick through magazines before our afternoon tea. Mum & I had both packed snacks in our bags because normally with afternoon tea, you don't get much, they are only little mouthfuls of each thing and we were prepared to still be hungry afterwards. Wrong!

When I saw the amount of food we had, I knew we wouldn't need our snacks as was excited to get stuck in! We had a selection of sandwiches; salmon, cucumber and chicken and then a vast array of desserts/cakes/biscuits to share. It was all so delicious! We couldn't finished it all so they wrapped some of the cake up for us to bring home which I thought was great, I hate food waste ;)

After lunch, we headed to the pool, sauna and massage chairs before having a little afternoon snooze in the relaxation room again. It was such a lovely day, my Mum had never been on a spa day before and she loved it! We are both generally quite busy, stressed mums so having a day of relaxation together was bliss! Warren took the day off work to look after Sienna while we went and he very kindly drove us there and back so we could enjoy the relaxation experience fully and not have to drive home. Thanks babe!

I'd definitely recommend using Wahanda if you are looking for any treatments/spa days, it's simple, easy and who doesn't like a bargain?!

Happy (early) Mother's Day!
