Our Christmas tree 2014!

This year I'm so excited because we have our first ever real tree! I have never had a real tree, not even when I was a child so for me it's quite special. We were very kindly given the opportunity to review a Nordman Fir 6ft tree from Pines and Needles. The Nordman fir is a brilliant option for families as the needles are not pointy and they don't drop as easily either. I have to admit I was a bit sceptical of having a real tree with Sienna but these features eased my mind a little.

The tree was delivered to our house at the specified date and time and was wrapped in heavy duty plastic and netting to protect it on it's travels. When I unwrapped the tree it was in great condition and when we got it in it's stand and up in the living room, it was perfect! It's a great shape and size and it is quite full compared to some real Christmas trees I have seen before.

We also have the water holding stand also from Pines and Needles and when I first opened it, it looked a bit daunting with spikes and bolts but the instructions were simple to follow and I soon figured out what to do, it was a lot less scary than it seemed! It's great that we can water our tree as it means it will last a bit longer and stay looking fresh throughout December.

Our tree is now fully decorated with lights and decorations and I absolutely love it! It is a little bit more work than an artificial tree but it is totally worth it! It adds a whole new dimension of excitement, even the smell of the tree makes me excited and feel Christmassy. The service from Pines and Needles was brilliant and having the tree delivered was so convenient for me being busy and having a toddler! It's definitely a 'proper' Christmas tree and I think we will be having a real tree every year now!
