World arthritis week

This seems like a funny thing to write about however, my Mum actually has arthritis so I'm all too familiar with how arthritis can affect people's lives. My mum was always in pain with her hip and she finally had a full hip replacement back in January but unfortunately she still has problems and uses a crutch to walk. As well as a crutch she also has ongoing hospital appointments, treatments and scans.

Although my Mum's in psoratic due to her psoriasis, it shares a lot of similar symptoms to Osteoarthritis which is the most common arthritis in the UK. It causes stiffness and pain in the joints which can cause lots of pain for suffers, I have seen my Mum in pain with it many times and it isn't nice for me let alone her being the one in pain! It stops her from doing a lot; walking, shopping, even sitting is sometimes uncomfortable.

Below is an infographic from Stannah Stairlifts that shows the facts about Osteoarthiris and also gives you some of the key symptoms to look out for. If you think you have a few of the symptoms or pain in your joints, it's definitely worth getting it checked out.
