Tassimo Vivy review

Tassimo Vivy review

A while a go we were very lucky to receive the Tassimo Vivy machine to review. When I'm not pregnant I am addicted to coffee and have always wanted a coffee machine, particularly a Tassimo as I feel it's the brand most people have and therefore a brand I can trust. The only reason we have never got one before is the space issue. Our kitchen isn't massive and most of our worktop space is taken up with the toaster, microwave, kettle, coffee pots, oils and spices. We've always looked at them but come to the conclusion there is nowhere to put it!

I was a little hesitant about this when I received the machine as to where it would fit, but being the Vivy machine it is 'the compact one' and doesn't take up much room at all, measuring just 17cm wide! It neatly sits next to our kettle and just about has enough room at the side for our discs. Setting it up was quite easy, it came with instructions that we soon figured out and then it was ready to go.

The machine itself is very easy to use, you simply pop in your disc, close it up, press the button and the Intellibrew does all the hard work for you, brewing your perfect drink in minutes. The machine doesn't need to be on all the time either, it has no heat up time after switching it on so you can literally switch it on, press the button and your drink will be ready to go. Perfect for busy mornings! If you do leave your machine on in-between brews, it automatically engages standby mode so has low energy consumption. The other clever feature is that it has an automatic cleaning and descaling program so it's always ready for your next brew.

We have been really impressed with this machine and even though we were kindly sent it, I would have snapped it up in a second myself after knowing about it. It retails for only £99.99 which I think is brilliant for all the clever, practical and easy features of it, plus the size. If we could have designed our perfect coffee machine it would be something extremely similar to this; compact, easy to use, no heat up time and self cleaning; what more could you want?!

Even though I haven't been able to stomach hot drinks thanks to my pregnancy, I have managed a few cadburys hot chocolates and they are delicious. Warren is a big fan of having a coffee from this and his mum was also impressed when she came to visit as well!

I'm positive when I am a mum of 2 under 2.5 and feeling back to normal, this little gadget will be my best friend. I can't wait to love coffee again and stock up with the all the Costa drinks, yum!

Do you have a Tassimo? What's your favourite drink?
