Pizza making!

For this weeks #beebiesbakeoff we made Pizza for dinner using the Playful Pizza dough mix! I have attempted to make my own pizza before but it didn't really work so I was intrigued to find out how this mix worked. Just like the pancake mix it was basically done for you, we just needed to add the specified amount of oil and water to the dry mix. This pizza dough has chia and flax like the pancakes making them much more healthy than a regular pizza base.

The amount stated seemed like the perfect amount, it made a great dough and we didn't need to add more flour or water to get the mix the right consistency which I find you do have to with some other mixes. After a bit of mixing with the spoon, it was ready for our hands. Sienna loved this bit, she thought it was a new batch of play doh haha, bless her! Once we had kneaded it for a while we left it to rise for about an hour.

I knocked it back again after it had risen and then rolled it out as thin as possible. We then got adding our toppings and popped it in the oven. The box stated it needed 10 minutes, however after 10 minutes I was worried the inside was still a bit doughy so I popped it back in for another 5 minutes.. only for it to come out a bit black around the edges! Whoops!

Luckily it looked worse than it tasted, it was actually really yummy! The base cooked much better than my last one which was brilliant and wasn't as doughy in the middle as I had suspected. Just like pancakes, we didn't feel the flax and chia really changed the flavour… it was just as delicious as a regular pizza!

This dough actually made 2 batches for us rather than 3 as it recommends although we do have big appetites. I have frozen the other batch of dough so it's ready to go for another dinner soon!
