Valentines Fashion; My top picks

Hi Lived with Love readers! I’m Katie and Kerry has very kindly let me to share my Valentine’s wishlist with you. They’re all gorgeous pieces which should add an extra element of romance to Valentine’s Night. Thanks for having me, and do stop by and say hello on twitter.

While life with little ones has an incredible amount to offer, it does mean date nights with your other half can become few and far between. But with Valentine’s Day on the horizon, it’s the perfect excuse for me to invest in a new outfit to remind that special someone exactly why they fell for you. Here are just a few of the pieces on my Valentine’s wishlist:

Heart print scarf
If your Valentine’s consists of a more casual lunch date, or a romantic stroll through the park, this scarf from Stella McCartney is the perfect accessory. It’s a welcome change from the leopard print scarves which seem to be ubiquitous and would look beautiful to add a pop of colour to a monochrome outfit.

What lies beneath
Beautiful underwear gives you extra confidence, even if no one else knows what you’re wearing under that LBD. The lace nightie with triangle cups from La Redoute creation manages to be both cute and sexy, and it’s in the requisite shade for Valentine’s. Or the soft red basque also from La Redoute is a comfortable alternative, giving a smooth appearance under your outfit as it has no boning at the sides.

Beautiful sexy florals
While florals can often be overtly girly, Christopher Kane’s new collection has more than a hint of sex appeal. This red lace insert dress is undeniably pricey but also undeniably stunning. I’d wear it with very subtle accessories – nude heels, just stud earrings and a black clutch to let the dress speak for itself.

Lovely loafers
While Burberry’s heart-print shirt has stolen all the headlines of late, donned by everyone from teen heartthrob Harry Styles to Spice Girl-turned designer Victoria Beckham, these beautiful calf-skin loafers have slipped quietly under the fashion radar. They would look gorgeous teamed with a pair of denim or leather skinnies, or a flippy skater-style dress.

Pretty pink clutch
I’ve fallen for this cute-as-a-button clutch bag from Moschino. It’s small but perfectly formed, just the right size to fit in a pillar-box red lipstick for touch ups during the evening. The chain detailing and boxy shape give it a classic feel but the lace heart motif means the bag has a fun element which is sure to prove a talking point.

The finishing touches
We’re hoping we might be lucky enough to get something like this wrapped up as a Valentine’s gift. But, if we were choosing our own jewellery, then we’d opt for the signature heart necklace by Vivienne Westwood. It would liven up all the LBDs in our current wardrobe.

Katie
