Family favourite winter warmers!

Now the colder months are coming and the nights are drawing in, we will all find ourselves craving comfort foods that satisfy us and give us a warmth inside. I thought I would share some family favourites that we will be enjoying this winter!

Tomato soup.

Soup is always my first choice for a winter lunch, it warms me up and helps get some of those veggies in! If I normally serve mine with half a wholemeal sandwich to add a bit more bulk to it and some whole grains!

Beef Stew.
The perfect one pot dinner, brilliant for mums! I'm going to be digging out a slow cooker recipe for this so I can get some lovely tender meat.

Sausage and mash.
I LOVE sausages, I think they must be my favourite food! Sausage, mash and beans is a favourite of mine but is one I tend to save for the winter. I really want to try the cauliflower and garlic mash that everyone seems to be eating lately to try and health-ify it a bit more!

Spaghetti Bolognese.

I really went off spaghetti bolognese when I was pregnant and haven't been much of a fan since but it is slowly becoming one of my favourites again. Sienna seems to love it too so I will definitely be making this a lot!

Apple crumble.
In my eyes, crumble is the ultimate comfort food for winter. I like to find healthier recipes so I don't pile on the pounds but balance it out with a spoon of ice cream, the contrast between the hot and cold is just so yummy!
