Recipe; Sticky Maple Pork!

Preparing for motherhood has left me trying harder with my housewife duties. After all, i'm going to have to be super mum! ;) So i have been searching for quick and easy recipes that are fairly cheap and super scrummy! I love Laura's blog and whilst looking through, I found this recipe that i knew i had to make! I had all the ingredients already so there was no reason not to try it.

Sticky Maple Pork!

I have adapted the recipe slightly to the quantities & ingredients we had!

Ingredients;

3 pork steaks, (around 400g),
1tbsp olive oil,
2 eating apples, cored and cut in slices,
1 garlic clove, chopped,
2 tbsp maple syrup,
1tbsp white wine vinegar,
1tbsp regular mustard.

Method;

 Cut the pork into slices and heat the oil in a large, preferably non-stick, frying pan. Add the pork and fry until all sides are slightly browned, then remove from the pan and set aside.

Add the apples into the pan, and cook until they start to soften {approx 3-4 minutes}. Stir in the garlic, maple syrup and vinegar then add 3tbsp boiling water.

Bring this to the boil, then return the pork to the pan, ensuring you coat it with all of the yummy maple juices. Simmer for a couple more minutes, making sure the pork is cooked through, and the sauce gets thicker and stickier.

Stir through the mustard. Enjoy!!

We have had this twice since i found the recipe, the first time i served it with new potatoes and veg and the second time, i tried it Laura's way with rice & more veg!

It's the perfect cheap, easy and healthy meal that a little different from what we would normally do with our pork. It will definitely be sticking to the weekly meal plan!!
