Now that we have Piper, we have to take her out for a walk at least twice a day and living in England, you can't always wait for the rain to stop. When Helly Hansen got in touch and asked if we'd like to review their rainwear, it was perfect timing so of course we said yes! Warren and I both went for raincoats with hoods, so we can both head out in the rain and not come back looking as much of a drowned rat as Piper does!
Mine is the Kirkwall rain coat* and I absolutely love it. The colour is 'essential yellow' and is a dusky, mustard yellow rather than a really bright yellow and is PU fabric. It is windproof and waterproof with welded seams and pockets so would withstand a lot more than a dog walk if I needed it too. It fits really well, it has the button up front and also a tie around the middle so gives a flattering, stylish look as well as being practical.
Warren went for the Universal moto jacket* and just like mine, it is stylish yet practical. It works brilliantly for the dog walks to keep him warm and dry but also looks the part when he wears it to work. It has the Helly Tech protection, is waterproof and has breathable technology too. The packable hood is ideal for Warren and he will only use one when it is absolutely necessary. We both love the charcoal colour of it and the metallic zips. It has a zip up the front as well as poppers to keep everything warm and dry and has many pockets to hold all the essential items.
We're both really happy with our choices, they are both classic raincoats with brilliant durability and we can see them lasting us years and many dog walks!
