If you follow my health blog you will know that I am a fan of protein shakes every once in a while. Sativa shakes sent me some of their products for me to try out along with a shaker. I have mentioned them briefly in some of my videos here & here but this is a 'proper' review.

I use protein shakes mainly because I'm lazy. With my lactose intolerance, I can't eat things like greek yogurt & cottage cheese to get my protein in and the soya alternatives tend to be more sugary and less protein so I avoid them. I also find it much quicker, with no thought needed I can grab a protein shake after a workout.

Sativa shakes offers two types of protein, plant & hemp. I have the plant protein which is lactose & dairy free, low carb, non GM, high protein, high fibre & omega 3 & vegan friendly. It is also a blend of pea, soy, hemp & brown rice protein and only sweetened with the natural sweetener stevia.

I got the banana & strawberry flavour and it tastes really great! I haven't tried it in any recipes because I love it just as a shake/smoothie. I do add in some peanut butter because I'm addicted ;) The stats are so good on this with 105 kcal's, 22.3g protein, 0.4g sugar (!!), 1.2g fat and 1.4 g fibre per 30g serving. AMAZINGGGGGG! In terms of the stats it is one of the best shakes I have tried.

The shaker is brilliant, I love the size of it and the fact it has a screw top not just a flip up lid so it doesn't leak everywhere! I've even been using this as my water bottle as it's such a great size.

They also do the Shake'n'take bottles which I think is a genius idea! You can see from the pictures it has the right amount of protein in the bottle and you just add water for an on the go shake. I wish supermarkets would stock these so they were a little more accessible! Again they taste great and are only £2.99 which I think is great! They also offer them for £1.99 if you buy 12 or more which is a god deal if you drink them regularly.

Overall, I think these are great and have definitely become my favourite brand for protein shakes! I also love the packaging of it which may not be important to some people but it is to me!

If you're interested in trying these out, Sativa now have their starter packs on offer for only £39.99 (normally £61.90) which is an absolute bargain!
