Routine's always seem to be popular, I guess it is interesting and helpful to see how other parents structure their day and stay on top of everything we have to do as let's admit it, it's a lot!
We've always had an evening routine with our babies, ever since Sienna was tiny she would go to bed at 6:30pm. Lately, I have found the need to push it back slightly to 7pm otherwise there just isn't enough time to fit everything in after school and we end up rushing and making it stressful which is not ideal for a good night's sleep!
Here's our evening routine:
3:45/4pm (depending on if we have to pop into the shop or not) - Arrive home from school.
4-4:15pm - Sort out lunchbox, school bags, get shoes off etc.
4:15-4:45pm - Read Sienna's school book, write in her reading record, get uniform/PE kit/swimming stuff out for next day
5pm - Start dinner
5:30-6pm - Eat dinner as a family, depending on what time Warren is home from work that day,
6-6:30pm - Brush teeth & bath time.
We have recently been trying out the Playbrush to make this time of day less stressful, as Aria in particular isn't a fan of brushing her teeth. The playbrush is an attachment to any toothbrush and links to your phone so as they brush, they are also playing games. This has definitely been helping as it makes brushing teeth fun as well as encouraging them to keep going for the whole 2 minutes that is recommended! If you fancy getting one, use the discount code KERRY to get 20% off and if you pre-order the sonic version that is due to launch in September, you'll be in with the chance of winning a trip to Disneyland Paris!
6:30-7pm - story time, songs and bed. This can take a while as the girls like to drag it out a slong as possible which I'm sure most kids do but generally they are asleep by 7:15pm and sleep most of the night well so we can't complain too much!
