Since announcing this pregnancy, we've had so many messages about our housing situation (and car situation but that's another post..) and people seem to be asking the same questions over and over again so I thought I'd put it all in a blog post for you instead of repeating myself all over social media haha!
So first up..
Are we getting a mortgage or house hunting?
We wish!
We have mentioned before that as much as we would love to find our 'forever home' especially now we'll have three kids, it just doesn't seem feasible. We have used a mortgage calculator and although we could afford monthly repayments (in fact they'd be cheaper than our current rent..!) we need such a big deposit being first time buyers and we just don't have it right now. So for now, we are staying put here but we are trying to save & budget for a deposit, it's just a little slow!
Where will baby sleep?
Baby will sleep in our room for the first 6 months in her moses basket and then we aren't really sure. We are thinking of getting rid of the office that we have and turning it into her room.. or the other option is that we give Sienna that room as she's the oldest and the baby shares with Aria. But it just depends how well the baby sleeps as Aria currently sleeps through so we don't want the baby waking her!
Sharing rooms?
Currently the two girls share a room and we have toyed with the idea of all three of them sharing. It is quite a big room and I think if the two older girls got bunk beds, there would be enough room for the cot as well and then we could keep our home office.. but I just feel bad about all three sharing a room when we do technically have another room one of them could use.
What will happen to the office?
If we decide to use the office as one of the girls bedrooms, we are going to try and build a 'mini' office either in our bedroom or in our cupboard at the top of the stairs. Our bedroom is quite wide that I think if we moved our bed to one side, we could fit a little ladder desk and maybe a cabinet next to it to utilise the space as an office as we do really need to keep one ideally!
If you have anymore questions, let me know! :)
