Now that I am out of the dreaded first trimester and feel more human again, I am trying to manage my time better and prioritising some time for myself again, instead of just making it through the day. I really do feel better when I have that hour or so of 'me time' when I can relax and breath a bit better before I carry on with being a wife and a mama. I am slowly realising that it is not selfish and I shouldn't feel guilty for it.. it recharges me and clears my mind in order to be a better person as a whole and that is very important.
I have been suffering with acid reflux lately and while I know this is a common sign of pregnancy I feel like mine is definitely worse when I'm feeling stressed out as well. In the past few weeks, it has been at it's worst and I don't think it's a coincidence that in the past few weeks I've also had a lot of work on, Aria has dropped her naps meaning I'm extra exhausted and I've had worries about the baby.

I'm joining in with the Relax With Rennie campaign for this post and have been trying out some of the best – and strangest – relaxation techniques from around the world in the comfort of my own home. The idea behind this campaign is to see if these techniques relax me and help ease the symptoms of acid reflux and heartburn.
Each area of the world has a different way of relaxing, from a simple long walk to a fishy foot massage!
The ones that appealed to me the most were Greece where they practise 'quiet time' from 2-5pm and while I may not be able to get 3 hours of quiet time what with having kids, I have found that having half an hour of down time and doing a quiet activity does wonders for all of us!
Russia deal with stress by 'sweating it out' in a sauna and again while I couldn't get to a sauna everyday, taking a few extra minutes in a hot shower at the end of the day definitely helps me destress once the girls are in bed asleep!
In the USA, they take to 'doing nothing' and this was a hard one to get used to be honest. I am so used to being busy and constantly running from one thing to the next that doing nothing felt very strange and I almost felt guilty lying there doing nothing, but I can say it definitely helps your brain sift through all its thoughts and switch off. I highly recommend trying this one!
These techniques definitely helped de-stress me but wether they helped relieve my acid reflux or not I'm unsure at the moment!
