Keeping your car in check is an important factor all year round, but as the winter months approach, it’s even more crucial to carry out all of the relevant safety checks. Lights

Waking up to dark mornings is bad enough, so the last thing you want is to start your journey to work and discover your car won’t start. Cars rely on electrical supply and eventually your vehicle’s battery will start to lose power and there are only so many times you can take a set of jump leads to it. It’s important to regularly check your battery and if you start to see telling signs of power loss then it may be time to buy a new one. MOT & Service
Having an MOT & Service are probably the most important health checks that need to be carried out on your vehicle. If your car is more than 3 years old then it needs an MOT every year and can be carried out at a range of test centres around the UK. As well as an MOT, your car will also need to be serviced annually to make sure everything meets the appropriate safety standards and legal requirements.
The points I’ve mentioned are just some of the checks that need to be carried out on your vehicle. With winter just around the corner and the weather getting colder, it’s important to prepare for car journeys, especially if you have young children. It may be worth keeping blankets in the boot of your car in case you do find yourself waiting for a mechanic to come to your aid, as well as snacks and magazines to keep the kids entertained.
