Last weekend, we headed off to Lulworth Castle for the annual Camp Bestival. Camp Bestival is the "little sister" of Bestival, it is aimed specifically at families with small children and has won 'Best Family Festival' 4 times since it's first year in 2008, which is why we chose this as our first family festival experience.

When we arrived, we were surprised how big it was and just how much there was to do. The girls loved all the music and looking around and everything going on. The whole place was decorated so fun, with colour, flags and glitter balls everywhere... Just how you'd imagine a fun family festival to look.

We were lucky with the weather, it didn't rain while we were there however it had been raining the 2 days previous and so we had the mud bath left over from that, but never the less it was fun and the girls didn't mind the mud too much once I told them it was ok to get dirty (..well I had no choice really did I)!

We didn't let the mud dampen our spirits although we did spend the first half an hour looking for some kind of wagon/trolley to put all our coats, bags and kids in but to no avail. If you are off to a festival, I highly recommend one, almost every other family had one which looked easier than carrying everything.
There was so much to keep the kids entertained other than just the live music. There were activities, craft corners, ice cream vans, face painting, glitter stations, sand, climbing frames and rides.

One of their favourite parts of the day was in the 'Kidifornia' adventure camp which is new to Camp Bestival this year.. in the tent there were different activities (we joined in with 'make a sword' obviously), a little climbing frame, sand pit and a yummy juice bar and seating for the adults. It was such a nice space to go too when the crowd and walking got too much.

We had a fab day and taste of festival life and we have promised the girls we'll be back next year... maybe for the whole weekend!
