I always find Spring a tricky one when it comes to fashion as the weather can be deceiving, especially in the UK! You leave the house in clothing appropriate for the weather yet get down the road and you're suddenly too cold or hot.
It's all about layering for me. Not only is it then easy to add or takeaway clothing to suit how you feel but it can also add to the interest of the outfit and make it look like you have tried harder than you probably have. You can also create many different looks for work or play.
This sleeveless waterfall trench coat* is a must have for Spring and can be worn so many different ways. For the first look, I wore it with jeans and this fine stripe double pocket shirt* from Laura Ashley. I love how it looks; effortlessly chic. The shirt is lightweight and comfortable yet still tailored to give a good shape.
The trench coat is the perfect Spring cover up. I love how it fits, the waterfall effect gives a more relaxed feel. As well as being stylish it's also practical with a belt and two slip pockets.
This second look is something I'd wear to a meeting. The trench is structured enough to look smart over a work outfit but again doesn't look like you tried too hard.
Polka dots are one of my favourite prints to wear and this blouse* is so pretty. The cut is beautiful and it's a very simple yet elegant design. It looks just as fab with jeans too.
