You should all know by now that Aria is what they call a 'velcro baby'. I had never heard this term before but apparently if you have a baby that likes to be attached to you 24/7, that's what you call it. Kind of makes sense, right?!
I have my Amawrap that I use to wear her when she's tired and asleep but as she's so nosey, she doesn't like to be in that when she is awake. She likes to sit on me and look around which is lovely, but it doesn't leave me with much time to do work or eat or anything else as I'm pretty much holding her when she isn't in the wrap.
Lapbaby recently got in touch looking for mummy bloggers who love baby wearing and have a baby ages 2-4 months. Aria is now nearly 3 months so we were perfect candidates and I was intrigued to try it out.
Lapbaby is an innovative lap belt that secures your baby to your lap so you can have your hands free to be able to work or eat or do anything else you miss doing when you have a velcro baby. It secures around you easily and comfortably with a clip and also secures baby with velcro (how fitting) and a clip so they are nice and safe. It also comes with it's own bag for storage and travel so is portable which is great for holidays or days out.
As it has been designed by a mother of two, it has a few contemporary features that help make your life even easier while using it. There is a extendable, detachable and wipe-clean lap cloth that is brilliant if baby is eating a snack when they are older or if you are using the Lapbaby it in a restaurant or cafe.
There's also a material clip to attach a toy or soother so baby can play without dropping it on the floor. It's so hard to reach to the floor with a baby on your lap so this is a great feature to have.
The main feature is obviously that it gives mums their hands back which is amazing! Since having this, I have been able to get so much more done. As you all know, blogging is now my career and my sole source of income so I am always busy working from home which is hard with a baby. This has helped make us both happier as I can get things done but Aria can still have close contact and interaction with me which makes her feel content.
It's also allowed us to have better bonding as I have both hands free to hold a book and point things out to her which I think is so helpful to their learning. These are just a few things we have explored so far but I know I will be using it a lot (I'm using it right now to get this post done as Aria was getting fussy on her playmat). I think it will be super handy to use in restaurants too as somehow babies always know when you're about to eat a meal and want some attention!
The Lapbaby is such a brilliant product and I can already see it becoming a must have item for us. It says suitable from 3 months however Aria is quite strong at holding her head up so we've been able to use it a little bit before that age. It retails for £24.99 which I think is a great price point considering how versatile it is and how much you will use it if you have a velcro baby.
You can purchase Lapbaby from their website and don't forget to check out their Facebook, Twitter & Instagram too!
